iPhone release history

This page records FreqMapper TestFlight milestones, newest first. The iPhone app remains in the 0.1.0 beta series and uses a Git-derived build number. A build number is therefore a repository milestone, not proof that the build was uploaded to or processed by TestFlight.

Only builds confirmed in App Store Connect are listed. Each entry records its TestFlight status so a processed build that was not opened to testers is not mistaken for a tester release.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 779

Available for testing September 24, 2026 · changes since build 696

  • Improves in-app feedback with separate bug and feature forms, optional private reply contact information, and clearer public-versus-private explanations.
  • Adds optional private photo, text, and JSON attachments. Photos are reprocessed to remove embedded location and camera metadata, and text attachments are redacted before upload.
  • Adds account and app-data deletion controls. A mapper can delete now or schedule deletion for seven days, while contributed coverage remains on the community map without their identity attached.
  • Rechecks the current region before every Active Patrol transmission. If the region cannot be confirmed or permits only Silent Recon, transmissions pause while received-traffic mapping continues and resume only when allowed.
  • Reorganizes Settings so Help & about is easier to find and adds the current FreqMapper privacy and terms links.

What to test

  1. Open Settings → Help & about, submit one bug and one feature request, and confirm the forms ask for the right details and explain which text becomes public. Add an optional photo or text file and confirm it remains listed as a private attachment.
  2. With an unlinked app and no trip running, open the deletion controls. Confirm the app offers immediate or seven-day deletion, explains that uploaded coverage remains anonymous, and lets a scheduled deletion be cancelled.
  3. Start Active Patrol near a supported-region boundary. Confirm transmissions pause and the app clearly says Silent Recon active whenever the current region is unconfirmed or does not allow Active Patrol, then resume only in an allowed region.
  4. Confirm the privacy policy, terms, Help site, and profile links open correctly, then complete an ordinary radio connection, short trip, upload, and saved-trip review as a regression check.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 696

Available for testing September 20, 2026 · changes since build 692

  • Clarifies that linking this app to a FreqMapper profile restores eligible server-confirmed radio enrollments and uploaded wardrives. Pending uploads and saved Bluetooth selections remain on the original iPhone.
  • Adds a confirmed Log out / unlink this app control in Settings. Unlinking removes this app's profile association without deleting server-side radio or wardrive records or signing out of the profile website.
  • Retries enrollment recovery for a radio that is already connected when this app becomes linked to the same profile as the earlier installation.

What to test

  1. Link an unlinked app while an eligible radio is already connected. Confirm the radio's enrollment is restored without changing its settings.
  2. Open Settings while linked, confirm the profile website link and the explanation of server-confirmed versus phone-local data, then unlink with the confirmation prompt. Confirm the website sign-in and server records are unaffected.
  3. Link the app again and reconnect the radio. Confirm enrollment recovery is available while pending uploads and saved Bluetooth selections are not presented as restored profile data.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 692

Available for testing September 18, 2026 · changes since build 657

  • Compares a connected radio's LoRa region, modem preset, frequency slot, and primary channel name and key with the selected region's official settings. The Radio tab explains differences without changing the radio.
  • Restores an eligible radio's regional enrollment after reinstalling or changing phones when the replacement app is linked to the same FreqMapper profile. Radio selection and pending uploads remain on the original phone.
  • Adds a voluntary diagnostic support report in Settings. A mapper can describe a problem and choose whether to include a redacted app, radio, GPS, upload, and issue timeline. FreqMapper excludes route coordinates, message content, channel keys, passwords, tokens, and Bluetooth addresses from that timeline.

What to test

  1. Connect a radio with matching regional settings, then change one setting on a test radio. Confirm the Radio tab identifies the difference and does not change the radio automatically.
  2. Link a replacement app to the same profile as an earlier installation, reconnect an eligible radio, and confirm its enrollment is restored.
  3. Open the diagnostic report form, review the optional timeline choice, and send a test report. Confirm the form states what data is excluded.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 657

Available for testing September 16, 2026 · changes since build 641

  • Prevents manual Chat messages from being sent on FreqMapper's reserved wardriving channel while keeping the radio's other enabled channels available for normal conversation.
  • Shows Meshtastic emoji tapbacks inline beneath the message they reference instead of displaying them as separate Chat messages.
  • Labels each tapback with the reacting node's Meshtastic Short Name, with the final four node-ID characters as a fallback when no Short Name is known.
  • Retains inline tapbacks with their messages in the seven-day Chat history.

What to test

  1. Connect a radio that has both the FreqMapper wardriving channel and another enabled channel such as MediumFast.
  2. Open Chat and confirm the wardriving channel cannot be selected for manual messages while every other enabled radio channel remains available.
  3. Send a harmless message on a normal channel and confirm emoji tapbacks from bots or other nodes appear inline beneath the original message.
  4. Confirm tapbacks show each node's Short Name rather than its full Long Name.
  5. Restart or reconnect and confirm the tapbacks remain attached to the correct messages in the seven-day history.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 641

Available for testing September 16, 2026 · changes since build 624

  • Checks the server's minimum supported app version before connecting a radio and gives a direct update path when the installed build is too old.
  • Makes radio and wardrive readiness clearer, including the reason a trip cannot start and the action needed to continue.
  • Adds Offline Mode for intentionally working without internet while retaining the approved offline Active Patrol behavior and queued uploads.
  • Adds the online Active Patrol Watchers card while keeping server-derived Watcher information hidden in Offline Mode.
  • Waits for the Meshtastic identity before applying enrollment rules, and corrects the latest Radio-tab identity and layout behavior.

What to test

  1. Connect a supported radio and confirm its Meshtastic identity appears before enrollment or wardrive readiness is decided.
  2. Confirm an app below the server minimum is stopped before radio connection with a clear TestFlight update action.
  3. Enter Offline Mode, start an allowed trip, and confirm server-only Watcher information is hidden while local mapping and queued work continue.
  4. Return online and confirm the Watchers card and normal upload behavior return.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 624

Available for testing September 15, 2026 · changes since build 618

  • Reports the Meshtastic Long Name as the primary radio name, then falls back to Short Name and node ID instead of using the Bluetooth device label.
  • Expands enrollment controls and keeps enrollment notices actionable from the relevant Radio and invite-key screens.
  • Hardens the one-command TestFlight archive flow by obtaining and verifying the exact MapLibre dSYM UUID included in the archive.
  • Retains the redesigned Trips experience and service-aware saved-trip lookup introduced in build 618.

What to test

  1. Connect a named Meshtastic radio and confirm Long Name, Short Name, and node ID are used in that order without exposing the Bluetooth label as identity.
  2. Open an enrollment notice and confirm it leads directly to the Radio tab or invite-key form and can be hidden without clearing the requirement.
  3. Open trips recorded against different FreqMapper services and confirm each trip loads from the service where it was recorded.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 618

Available for testing September 15, 2026 · changes since build 606

  • Redesigns the Trips list and saved-trip details for faster review.
  • Adds a fitted route map and mapped activity to each saved trip.
  • Adds a tappable TX/RX signal timeline for inspecting individual trip events.
  • Updates the iPhone map to MapLibre 6.31.
  • Fixes saved-trip detail loading so each trip stays tied to the FreqMapper service where it was recorded.

What to test

  1. Open a saved trip and confirm the map fits its route and activity.
  2. Tap TX and RX points on the signal timeline and confirm the matching details are readable and correctly classified.
  3. Switch between services or environments and confirm older trips still load from their original service.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 606

Available for testing September 14, 2026 · changes since build 532

  • Adds multi-channel Chat and received-traffic mapping while preserving channel identity for each message and RX observation.
  • Adds server-approved offline Active Patrol and improves the transition from online operation to a permitted offline trip.
  • Shows current-session verified and RX contribution totals plus compact radio battery status.
  • Keeps enrollment notices above Chat, routes them directly to the Radio tab and invite-key form, and lets the notice be hidden without clearing the enrollment requirement.
  • Improves confirmed-region recovery for offline starts and resets Settings navigation when its tab is tapped again.

What to test

  1. Receive and send on multiple configured channels and confirm Chat and RX activity retain the correct channel.
  2. Start an approved Active Patrol, lose internet access, and confirm the trip continues with its work queued for upload.
  3. Compare the session verified and RX totals with the mapped activity and confirm the compact battery status updates with the connected radio.
  4. Open, hide, and reopen an enrollment notice and confirm the underlying requirement remains until enrollment is complete.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 532

Released September 10, 2026 · changes since documented build 483

  • Adds responsive offline wardrives that keep encrypted work queued on the phone and upload it after internet access returns.
  • Fixes offline-start reliability, including region recovery from the last confirmed map region or current GPS location.
  • Makes offline and issue guidance dismissible without losing the underlying saved work or recovery state.
  • Adds the organized Settings home, app-to-profile linking state, Radio-tab enrollment, plain-language issue history, and restrained TestFlight update prompts introduced after build 483.
  • Uses the production FreqMapper service for TestFlight archives while keeping development builds on the development service.

What to test

  1. Prepare the app online, remove internet access, and start a permitted trip. Confirm the app stays responsive and explains that work is saved locally.
  2. Finish the trip offline, restore internet, and confirm the encrypted queued session uploads without losing its route or radio evidence.
  3. Dismiss an offline or issue notice and confirm the trip continues and its recovery state remains available in Settings.
  4. Open each Settings category, link or inspect the app profile state, and use the manual update check without leaving a permanent progress indicator.
  5. Confirm the TestFlight build uses the production FreqMapper service.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 524

iPhone 0.1.0 build 518

Available for testing September 10, 2026 · changes since build 491

  • Adds Signal Burst coverage retries and richer wardrive map overlays.
  • Removes the temporary mobile test-outcome map mode and simplifies the map to the coverage and activity views testers actually use.
  • Replaces technical failures with plain-language issue alerts and issue history.
  • Simplifies profile setup, app linking, and Radio-tab enrollment, then hides profile-linking controls after setup is complete.
  • Introduces the organized Settings home used by later builds.

What to test

  1. Run a Signal Burst and confirm retries and their coverage results are clear.
  2. Confirm wardrive overlays remain responsive without the old outcome mode or position-cell clutter.
  3. Trigger a recoverable issue and confirm its alert and Settings history use understandable guidance.
  4. Complete profile linking and enrollment and confirm setup-only controls no longer crowd the normal Settings and Radio screens.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 491

Available for testing September 8, 2026 · changes since build 483

  • Corrects verified since app opened so it includes only verified results from trips started during the current app session.
  • Adds automatic radio reconnect after a connection that had reached full PhoneAPI readiness, while keeping app-launch connection manual and respecting an explicit Disconnect.
  • Makes iPhone wardrive activity and current radio status easier to understand.

What to test

  1. Reopen the app, start a new trip, and confirm the session verified count excludes older trips.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect the radio and confirm the app returns to a usable ready state without a stale connection indicator.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 483

Released September 8, 2026 · changes since documented build 469

  • Added two wardrive missions. Active Patrol sends paced coverage tests while mapping received traffic; Silent Recon maps received traffic without sending coverage-test packets.
  • Added richer mission cards and clear running-state language. The collapsed launcher is centered and says WarDrive, while mission selection remains in the expanded panel.
  • Enforced each region's wardrive policy. A region may allow both missions or require Silent Recon, making Active Patrol unavailable before a trip starts.
  • Kept the configured wardriving channel unchanged in Silent Recon. The app ignores the channel while transmissions are disabled.
  • Added the region's privacy-filtered aggregate Received-here RX cells alongside the iPhone's current-session RX cells, without drawing duplicate polygons.
  • Preserved map priority and evidence boundaries: positive verified TX displays above purple RX, while received activity creates neither verified coverage nor leaderboard points.
  • Corrected the map legend structure and polished the WarDrive controls.

What to test

  1. Start one trip with each available mission. Confirm Active Patrol shows the test countdown and TX + RX activity, while Silent Recon shows RX activity without a countdown or transmitted test packets.
  2. In a Silent Recon-only region, confirm Active Patrol is visibly unavailable and the trip starts in Silent Recon.
  3. Confirm Silent Recon leaves the configured wardriving channel unchanged.
  4. Confirm shared and current-session purple RX cells appear without duplicate cells, and that positive verified TX remains above purple RX.
  5. Confirm RX-only activity does not increase verified coverage or leaderboard points.

iPhone 0.1.0 build 469

Released September 7, 2026 · changes since documented build 452

  • Added the same private Received here RX sampling, receiver-location markers, purple RX quality cells, and privacy boundaries described for Android 0.1.65.
  • Added up to three Watcher comparisons in RX details, including explicit cross-region labels and separate driving-radio signal readings.
  • Added stateful TX markers and combined-map priority: positive TX coverage displays above purple RX, while RX may fill untested, pending, or red display areas without changing the underlying TX evidence.
  • Added saved Standard, Accessible, and Monochrome palettes. Standard mode also honors the iOS Differentiate Without Color accessibility setting.
  • Added evidence-driven coverage degradation and the complete in-app map legend.
  • Kept active wardrive GPS, BLE reception, scheduled tests, and queued uploads independent of the selected app tab and available during iOS-permitted background execution.
  • Replaced technical “hex” wording with coverage cell in tester-facing explanations.
  • Corrected iOS map color typing and deferred MapLibre state callbacks. These final fixes prevent build/runtime warnings without changing the test flow.

What to test

  1. Connect a Meshtastic radio, start a wardrive, change tabs, and briefly background the app. Confirm GPS, tests, RX capture, and uploads continue.
  2. Receive ordinary mesh traffic and confirm the RX marker uses the iPhone's location rather than a sender Position Packet.
  3. Confirm hollow RX markers become filled after server acceptance. Tap one and compare the driving radio's signal with any listed Watchers.
  4. Confirm RX never increases the verified-results count or leaderboard score, and positive TX coverage displays above purple RX.
  5. Try all Color vision choices and iOS Differentiate Without Color. Check the map and legend together, then restart the app to confirm the saved choice.
  6. Confirm TX markers progress through pending, relayed, verified, or not-heard states and that the map remains responsive when reopened.
