Join a mapping region

FreqMapper uses enrollment codes while the network is being built. That keeps the shared mapping channel and coverage results useful while each region gets established.

During the current public beta, use the shared code listed on the Getting started page. If it no longer works, ask the FreqMapper community for the current code.

What to ask for

If the public beta code is unavailable, contact the FreqMapper community and ask for a current enrollment code.

Use the actual code they give you — it starts with FM-ENROLL-. It is not a normal Meshtastic channel key.

Use it in the app

1. Install FreqMapper and open the Radio tab.
2. Connect and let your Meshtastic radio finish synchronizing.
3. Paste the one-time region enrollment code when the app prompts for it.
4. Read the radio name shown under the field, then tap Apply invite key.
5. FreqMapper binds this app installation to that connected radio, fetches the shared wardriving channel, and clears the invite key from your phone.

The button stays unavailable until a radio is fully connected. That is intentional: an invite key enrolls a particular radio, not a loose phone or a name somebody typed in.

Tip

One successful enrollment is enough for that app and radio. In Settings, link the app to your FreqMapper profile before uninstalling it or changing phones. If a replacement app is linked to the same profile, connecting that radio restores its regional enrollment without another invite key. Treat any replacement code as private.

If it does not work

• Check that you pasted the complete key with no extra characters.
• Make sure the radio says connected rather than merely appearing in the scan list.
• Ask the FreqMapper community for a current code or help with a previously enrolled radio.
