Website profile and account settings

The website profile combines activity from every mobile app that you deliberately link. Open My profile from the public map or Regional Administration and sign in with Google, Apple, Discord, or GitHub.

The Section menu keeps each part of the profile on its own address. You can bookmark a section or use the browser Back button without losing your place.

Overview

The overview summarizes wardrive sessions, linked apps, verified TX boxes, RX samples, and RX points. Its private map keeps two kinds of evidence separate:

  • green/yellow/orange cells show where your mapping tests were heard by an approved Watcher; and
  • purple cells show where your driving radio heard eligible mesh traffic.

Zooming switches between the 300 m overview and 100 m detail grid. RX locations, exact routes, radio identities, and packet details are not published by this page.

Wardrive sessions

Use search, region, year, and pagination controls to find a trip. Expand a session to view its saved route, mapping pings, verified TX cells, and private RX cells.

Choose Share trip only when you want a public link for one finished session. FreqMapper creates the link on demand; trips do not receive public URLs automatically. The link opens the normal public-map experience with every other coverage layer hidden and only that trip's Watcher-verified TX and privacy-filtered aggregate RX cells loaded. Its Trip panel contains the date, duration, and summary counts. It does not include the saved route, exact TX or RX samples, sender identity, radio identity, packet details, or profile identity.

An active link appears with the session so you can copy it again or choose Stop sharing. Stopping sharing makes the old link unavailable. Unlinking the mobile app that recorded the trip also revokes its active trip links; relinking does not reactivate an old URL.

The session map can show:

  • the saved GPS route, with breaks where more than two minutes of route data are missing;
  • start and last-saved positions;
  • Watcher-verified and unverified mapping pings;
  • verified TX coverage; and
  • private RX coverage.

TX and RX remain separate even when they overlap. A trip with no returned private points may still retain aggregate results or a summary.

Linked apps & radios

You can start from either side:

  • From the website: choose Show pairing code, then enter the short code under Settings → Profile & data → Website pairing code in the app.
  • From the app: choose Sign in and link this app, then finish the secure sign-in page.

Codes and secure links expire after 15 minutes. When linking succeeds, server-confirmed enrollments and uploaded wardrives from that app join the profile.

Name and find devices

Give each linked installation a private device name such as “Road-trip iPhone” or “Pixel 9.” Search can match a device name, radio name, or node ID; filters can narrow the list by iOS or Android.

A device card shows its app version and enrolled radios. The private device name is for organizing the profile and is not a public leaderboard name.

Unlinking removes the device from the profile view and revokes active public trip links created for that device. Its enrollment and uploaded wardrives remain on FreqMapper and return if it is relinked. Unlinking is not account deletion and does not remotely change the radio.

For recovery after reinstalling or changing phones:

  1. Link the replacement app to the same profile.
  2. Scan for and connect the earlier radio.
  3. Let FreqMapper verify and restore an eligible enrollment.

Pending uploads and saved Bluetooth choices are local to the earlier phone and cannot be recovered from the website.

Leaderboard

The private totals combine verified tests, RX points, and wardrives across linked apps. Region rows show where saved wardrives occurred.

Under Leaderboard driver, choose whether the public leaderboard shows a name you select or an anonymous Mapper code. Turning public display off does not erase results; it removes the chosen name from public leaderboard display. Radio names and IDs, sign-in identities, RX locations, and packet details are never used as the public driver name.

Sign-in & security

FreqMapper can link Google, Apple, Discord, and GitHub sign-in methods to the same profile. The provider account's stable identity—not its visible email alone—identifies the sign-in.

Add another verified method before removing or replacing an old one. You cannot remove the method used by the current browser session; sign out and return with another linked method first. Replacing a provider or completing administrator recovery signs out other profile sessions.

Apple's Hide My Email is supported for sign-in identity. A regional invitation still needs to match an address accepted by the invitation flow, so ask the regional administrator which verified email they used if access does not appear.

Delete your account

The deletion controls are at the bottom of Sign-in & security. Choose:

  • Delete now to begin permanent deletion immediately; or
  • Delete in 7 days to leave a cancellation window.

Deletion removes the profile, linked sign-in methods, linked devices, exact routes, personal records, diagnostics, and support records covered by the account. It cannot restore local phone data that was already erased.

Community coverage remains without the person's name or account attached. Regions, Region Groups, boundaries, Watchers, and shared regional settings remain. See Privacy and data before continuing.

The Privacy Policy explains what is collected, shared, retained, and removed. The Terms of Service cover safe and acceptable use, regional responsibilities, public contributions, and service limitations.

Regional access

This section appears when the profile is a regional administrator or moderator. Each card opens that region's control room.

  • Admin access can change regional settings.
  • Moderator access is read-only.
  • Region Group roles are inherited by their child groups and regions.

Access is connected to the exact verified email the regional team assigned. Signing in successfully does not create regional authority by itself.

Website profile versus app settings

These are related but separate:

Action Where to do it
Link or unlink one phone Mobile Settings → Profile & data, or website Linked apps & radios
Share or stop sharing one finished trip Mobile Trips to create/share; website Wardrive sessions to create, copy, or revoke
Name a linked phone Website Linked apps & radios
Change public leaderboard name Website Leaderboard
Add or replace a sign-in provider Website Sign-in & security
Erase phone-only trip history or pending uploads Mobile Settings → Profile & data
Delete the whole linked account Website Sign-in & security
Delete only an unlinked app's server data That mobile app's Settings → Profile & data
