Leaderboards and contribution totals
FreqMapper leaderboards recognize mapping work while keeping verified TX evidence and passive RX exploration separate. Open Leaders from the public map, or open the leaderboard link for a region or Region Group.
Choose an area
The area selector can show:
- all public FreqMapper regions;
- one Region Group, including its active descendant regions; or
- one individual region.
The selected public hostname and heading show the active scope. Changing scope does not merge unrelated regional policy or evidence.
Leaderboard views
| Board | What it ranks |
|---|---|
| Active mappers | Verified tests from the past seven days. |
| Verified coverage leaders | All independently Watcher-verified mapping tests in the selected area. |
| Trailblazers | Credit for the first verified test in each 300 m overview cell. |
| Watcher reach | The number of different approved Watchers that received a mapper's tests. |
| RX explorers | One RX point per mapper and distinct 300 m area containing an accepted private receive sample. |
Rows can also show verified cells, RX samples or points, wardrives or RX sessions, success rate, recent activity, regions mapped, and Watchers reached.
How the totals differ
- Verified tests require an approved Watcher receipt for the controlled mapping packet.
- Verified cells summarize verified TX tests into map areas.
- RX samples count accepted eligible receptions saved by the driving radio.
- RX points reward distinct 300 m receive areas once per mapper, so repeated packets in the same area add samples but not more points.
- Wardrives are completed mapping sessions.
- Test success is the share of completed controlled tests with verified receipts.
Trailblazer and RX scoring use the 300 m overview grid even when the map is displaying 100 m detail. Purple RX never becomes verified TX coverage.
Name or anonymous Mapper code
The mobile app can contribute without a public profile name. By default, the leaderboard can use an anonymous Mapper code.
To publish a chosen driver name:
- Link the mobile app to the website profile.
- Open My profile → Leaderboard.
- Enter a public driver name.
- Turn on Show my chosen driver name publicly and save.
Turn the option off at any time to return to an anonymous Mapper code without deleting the contribution totals. Linking several installations to the same profile combines their eligible totals whether the name is public or anonymous.
Radio names and IDs, sign-in identities, private RX locations, exact routes, and packet details are not used as the public driver name.
Why a number may not match the map
Map cells and leaderboard rows answer different questions. Several tests can occur in one cell, and one test can have several Watcher receipts. The map may also be showing a 100 m detail grid while Trailblazer and RX points use 300 m areas.
Recent activity can take a short time to appear after uploads and aggregation finish. A test without an approved Watcher receipt cannot increase verified totals, while accepted RX can increase RX samples without creating a new distinct-area point.
