FreqMapper v1.0.22
Summary
FreqMapper v1.0.22 makes mobile mapping faster and more predictable with transport-specific radio controls, smoother coverage loading, and matching map controls on Android and iPhone.
What's new
- The Radio tab now keeps BLE and TCP radios in separate transport views on Android and iPhone, with an additional USB view for compatible Android radios.
- Mobile maps now provide separate controls for always-north or heading-up orientation and for preventing accidental manual rotation. Both choices are remembered.
- Map settings can keep detailed 100 m coverage, keep overview 300 m coverage, or continue switching automatically with zoom. Driving zoom can remember the last view or use Wide, Balanced, or Close presets.
- Android now includes the satellite map style already available on iPhone.
- The map status bar now counts newly verified coverage cells separately from all verified TX tests and received packets.
Improvements
- Mobile maps reuse recently loaded coverage at startup, keep existing hexes visible during background refreshes, and avoid reloading the coverage grid after every zoom change when a fixed cell size is selected.
- Android and iPhone now use the same grouped map-control layout, including zoom, recentering, marker selection, map layers, orientation, rotation lock, legend, refresh, and collapse controls.
- Each transport remembers its own last connected radio and selects it when that transport is opened, without starting an unwanted connection after a normal fresh launch.
- Radio connection screens place Connect or Disconnect and Go Offline together, hide the transport selector while connected, and collapse less-frequent enrolled-radio details.
- Radio setup and reconnect handling now clear stale session errors, wait for the current radio identity before checking enrollment, and reduce unnecessary configuration work while keeping channel and chat setup available.
- The wardrive mission panel opens for each new app session and remembers when it has been collapsed until the app is closed.
- Pending Active Patrol tests now use a blue dot with a white ring, making them easier to distinguish from verified green and not-heard red results.
Fixes
- Fixed stale TCP, BLE, or USB selections carrying into a different transport view.
- Fixed some reconnects briefly showing an enrolled radio as not enrolled after disconnecting and reconnecting.
- Fixed map rotation lock behavior so locking prevents manual rotation while the independent orientation control continues to choose north-up or heading-up behavior.
- Fixed development verification failing during the brief period while a restarted API was still becoming ready.
What you need to do
Nothing. The update is already available.
Mobile availability
Android 1.0 (121) is prepared as the next Google Play internal-testing candidate. No iPhone TestFlight build containing this complete change set is documented as available yet.
Known limitations
- USB radio connections are available only on Android.
- The fixed 100 m and 300 m coverage choices change map presentation only; they do not change stored tests or coverage evidence.
- Mobile store availability remains separate from this product release and depends on the applicable testing or store channel.
