FreqMapper v1.0.5
Summary
FreqMapper v1.0.5 makes active wardrives easier to follow on Android and iPhone, keeps radio interruptions from silently ending the trip, and gives iPhone users safer control over saved sessions that belong to a different FreqMapper server.
What's new
- Android now shows live wardrive progress in its ongoing notification, including the current mode, TX and RX totals, region, watcher result, and the countdown to the next scheduled test.
- iPhone now provides a wardrive Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with the current mode, progress, TX and RX totals, region, and watcher result.
- Saved iPhone sessions now identify the Development or Production server and the app version that created them. A session can be deleted from the iPhone without changing data that was already uploaded.
Improvements
- Android and iPhone now use the same wardrive counters as the Map, including RX packets heard while the app is open and the latest completed Top Watcher result.
- If an Android radio disconnects during a wardrive, radio work pauses while the GPS route remains active. The same trip resumes automatically after the expected radio reconnects and its shared wardriving channel is ready.
- iPhone saved-session controls are clearer: compatible sessions offer an upload action, sessions from another server explain why upload is unavailable, and deletion requires confirmation.
- Internal and external TestFlight builds can receive concise What to Test notes generated from the changes and testing guidance recorded since the preceding build.
Fixes
- An iPhone Development session can no longer be uploaded accidentally by a Production build, or the reverse. Sessions without reliable origin information require review and are not uploaded automatically.
- Mobile status surfaces now keep verified TX results separate from eligible RX packets, so their totals match the Map instead of mixing different kinds of evidence.
What you need to do
Nothing for the source release. Install a mobile build only through its stated testing or store channel when that exact build becomes available.
Mobile availability
The iPhone app is on version 1.0, but no iPhone build containing this complete v1.0.5 change set has yet been verified as available through TestFlight or the App Store. No Android build containing this complete change set has yet been verified as available through Google Play or the private OTA channel. Mobile distribution remains a separate release step.
Known limitations
- Live Activities require a supported iPhone and iOS version. Dynamic Island presentation is available only on compatible iPhone models.
- Android notification presentation varies by Android version and device manufacturer.
- TestFlight What to Test automation prepares notes for supported builds; external testing still remains subject to Apple's review and the configured external-testing workflow.
